１９７６年推出首張同名大碟, 一舉成名．在美國至今賣出１７００萬張．

１９８０年代初期，Epic／CBS唱片，對團長湯姆舒爾茨 (Tom Scholz)提起了６０００萬美元訴訟，

指控其未能按時交付新的波士頓專輯而違反合同，

經過數年纏訟，由舒爾茨贏得官司

這也讓波士頓跳槽MCA唱片．

１９８６年９月，波士頓推出第三張大碟［Third Stage／第三舞台 ］（MCA出版）

由團長湯姆舒爾茨 負責大部分歌曲創作, 並擔任製作人, 樂評良好．

首支主打為［Amanda／阿曼達］，由湯姆舒爾茨創作

湯姆舒爾茨於１９８０年錄製樣本帶，包括後來出現在歌曲中的吉他獨奏。

從那時到 1981 年，舒爾茨不得不重新創作這首歌以完成它。

他說：

“阿曼達”不是一個真正的女人。 相反，選擇這個名字是因為它與歌詞很相配。
