江漢曾為客，  To the same place in old days we went,

相逢每醉還。  in ecstatic drunk every time we met.

浮雲一别后，  Since we bid farewell like cloud floating，  

流水十年間。  ten years have elapsed like water flowing.

歡笑情如舊，  Having fun and laughter as we were used to be,

蕭疏鬢已斑。  yet gray hairs crept over temples as we could see. 

何因北歸去，  Why didn’t I go with you back to north?

淮上對秋山。  For I’ve got used to mountainous south.
