「國小而不處卑，力少而不畏強，無禮而侮大鄰，貪愎而拙交者，可亡也」

A small and weak state doesnt put it in a position of self-effacement, but displaying intrepidity and arrogance towards the strong neighbors, having recourse to sheer obstinacy but lacking diplomatic demarche, then such a state is bound to vanish.   

P.S.  To me ROC is hardly a "state", let alone Taiwan, so "vanish" may not be a correct word to modify the situation of the island.  But is there any way to do to avoid such a fate?  You know the answer!
