推出一張以百老匯音樂劇歌曲與傳統流行經典的匯集〔The Broadway Album／百老匯專輯〕（Columbia唱片出版）

製作群包括芭芭拉史翠珊，Richard Baskin，Bob Esty，大衛福斯特（David Foster），Paul Jabara，Peter Matz，Kim Skalecki，發行後大受好評．

 

原本唱片公司跟史翠珊並不預期這張主題冷門的專輯會暢銷，

但意外受到大眾喜愛，登上美國告示牌專輯榜后座，蟬聯３週，為芭芭拉拿下第六張冠軍大碟，取得四白金唱片（４００萬張＋）（1986年榜#12）

此曲選自名劇作家史蒂芬桑漢（Stephen Sondheim）（詞曲）與休惠勒（Hugh Wheeler）（台詞）於１９７９年推出的百老匯驚悚音樂劇〔Sweeney Todd〕

故事來自Christopher Bond１９７３年的舞台劇〔Sweeney Todd，The Demon Barber of Fleet Street〕

 

〔Not While I’m Around〕由Richard Baskin製作成一首音樂劇／成人流行抒情曲，

Jeremy Lubbock指揮，在寧靜安謐的優美弦樂中，

史翠珊以細膩的唱腔娓娓詮釋，嗓音有如行雲流水，完全沒有斧鑿的痕跡．
