１９８４年　五名童年好友在高中組成團體成團 〔Catch ２２〕

後來一名團員退出　剩餘便成為後來的布里斯（Breathe）

 

１９８４年　他們開始灌錄試唱帶寄給唱片公司　最後跟A&M公司簽約

１９８６年　布里斯發行首支單曲［Don’t Tell Me Lies／別告訴我謊言］

由團員David Glasper, Marcus Lillington合寫,        Bob Sargeant製作

是首流行搖滾　旋律悅耳　節拍輕快　富有精力

此曲先在英國單曲榜＃７７

 

１９８８年　布里斯發行首張專輯［All That Jazz］, 也收錄［Don’t Tell Me Lies］

以［Hands to Heaven］［How Can I Fall］打入英美排行榜Top５成名

１９８９年３月　唱片決定重新發行［Don’t Tell Me Lies］

在英國成績略佳　拿到單曲榜＃４５　

在美國為第三主打　此曲反應甚佳　登上Billboard單曲榜＃１０（另外拿到成人抒情榜＃５）　成為布里斯第三首前十名熱門曲

也幫助專輯在美銷售頗佳　超越５０萬張　拿到金唱片

雖然布里斯當時前途頗被看好, 可惜下張大碟驟滑, 成為１９８０年代末／９０年代初的短命英國流行團體之一
