Though I am an old man with a limited circle of friends and acquaintances, I may receive obituaries from my colleagues and classmates once in a while.
The other day, I got a message from a deceased classmate who had always cared about his health. He earned a Ph.D after retiring from work, which signified that his intelligence had not degraded as he was aged. He was also a chairman of a big Qi Gong association, which meant he was an active and strict follower of the regimen. He should live longer even though he is eighty already.
Nevertheless, he suffered a stroke nearly a year ago, and his condition improved after assiduous rehab. But a fortnight ago, the illness struck him again, and this time, he could not make it anymore.
Men propose, and God disposes.
PS. I was deeply moved when I saw a photo from LINE showing his grandson shaving his beard for him just an hour before he passed away.

You can say that again. Retiredbum 於 2024/10/31 10:53回覆
