Mr. Li Ao once said in his solo talk show that history would not particularly elaborate a partial regime within a sovereignty. He raised the example of Wuyue, which survived from that chaotic era of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms but finally submitted itself to the centralized and unified government, Song, and became part of orthodox China. The history will only write down when the Song Dynasty was founded but neglect that then temporarily independent Wuyue.
Now, there is a TV drama from the Chinese Mainland that tells the story of Wuyue and Song.
