今天學到的字是Primum non nocere，拉丁文，根據Wikipedia，它的意思是"first, do no harm."。Non-maleficence，不傷害原則，將對病人的傷害減到最低，是生命倫理(bioethics)之原則之一，醫師要盡其所能避免病人承受不必要的身心傷害。

是這樣沒錯喔。有時西醫不太讓人信賴的原因是，這個那個的檢查做了一堆，醫生就看著那些數字解讀，卻忽略了以人為本：生病的人就在面前，為什麼不先好好跟他說說話，聽聽他的感覺呢？為什麼上醫院跟醫生說話是那麼令人心生恐懼的事？為什麼醫生是那麼地尊貴而病人是如此卑微？

又找到的是Hippocratic Oath ，是醫事人員行醫時的道德倫理守則，根據古希臘伯里克利的醫師Hippocratic的理念而來。希波克拉底，約生於公元前四六零年，後世人普遍認為其為醫學史上傑出人物之一。在其所身處之上古時代，醫學並不發達，然而卻能將醫學發展成為專業學科，使之與巫術及哲學分離，並創立了以之為名的醫學學派，對古希臘之醫學發展貢獻良多，故今人多尊稱之為「醫學之父」。

Hippocratic Oath的英文全文如下: “I swear by Apollo the physician, by Aesculapius, Hygeia, and Panacea, and I take to witness all the gods, all the goddesses, to keep according to my ability and my judgment the following oath: To consider dear to me as my parents him who taught me this art; to live in common with him and if necessary to share my goods with him; to look upon his children as my own brothers, to teach them this art if they so desire without fee or written promise; to impart to my sons and the sons of the master who taught me and the disciples who have enrolled themselves and have agreed to the rules of the profession, but to these alone, the precepts and the instruction. I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone. To please no one will I prescribe a deadly drug, nor give advice which may cause his death. Nor will I give a woman a pessary to procure abortion. But I will preserve the purity of my life and my art. I will not cut for stone, even for patients in whom the disease is manifest; I will leave this operation to be performed by practitioners (specialists in this art). In every house where I come I will enter only for the good of my patients, keeping myself far from all intentional ill-doing and all seduction, and especially from the pleasures of love with women or with men, be they free or slaves. All that may come to my knowledge in the exercise of my profession or outside of my profession or in daily commerce with men, which ought not to be spread abroad, I will keep secret and will never reveal. If I keep this oath faithfully, may I enjoy my life and practice my art, respected by all men and in all times; but if I swerve from it or violate it, may the reverse be my lot.”

好文言喔~在網路上有希臘文版本呢，但還是別了；中文我想也不用找了。裡面還有一些只記得出現在希臘神話中的名字：原來Panacea是一個神的名字啊~
