邦妮泰勒是英國著名唱將　以其沙啞嗓音著名　還被稱為女性版的‘洛史都華’（Rod Stewart）
１９５１年　邦妮泰勒（Bonnie Tyler）出生於英國威爾斯

１９７０年參加歌唱選秀比賽拿到亞軍後　開始歌唱演出

１９７５年與RCA唱片簽約

１９７６年　邦妮以第二首單曲〔Lost In France〕拿到首支英國Top１０暢銷曲（＃９）

１９７７年發行首張大碟　但成績普通
本來她以唱R&B為主
後來喉嚨長瘤　手術之後變成現在著名的沙啞嗓音
結果吸引經紀人注意　推出全球暢銷的單曲〔It’s A Heartache〕（US＃３　UK＃４＃　Germany＃２　France＃１）

同名專輯成績也不錯　終於讓泰勒成為國際明星

可是邦妮不滿意唱片公司要她往鄉村樂發展
合約結束後轉往CBS公司　並找來以製作肉塊（Meat Loaf）專輯成名的Jim Steinman
希望他的史詩音樂風格能為她開創新的局面
１９８３年春天　邦妮推出〔Faster Than The Speed Of The Night〕專輯
首支單曲為３月發行　Steinman譜寫製作的〔Total Eclipse of the Heart／心之全蝕〕

據說Jim原本將此曲跟另一首作品〔Making Love Out Of Nothing At All〕給肉塊（Meat Loaf）

但他的唱片公司拒絕付錢給他

所以〔Total Eclipse of the Heart〕後來給了邦妮　成為英美冠軍曲

〔Making Love Out Of Nothing At All〕給了澳洲團體空中補給（Air Supply）　成為美國亞軍曲

〔Total Eclipse of the Heart〕是描寫一個失戀女子痛苦心境的歌曲

被製作成一首流行抒情搖滾曲
在悠揚鋼琴　精緻鍵盤與傑出合音的交合下
Jim以戲劇化的節奏　超長的時間（７分鐘）華麗的編曲　交織出那種午夜夢迴的氣氛
配上邦妮泰勒那沙啞嗓音如泣如訴的詮釋
