樂團延續了他們先前在專輯《Parade》中未能成功實現的嘗試，試圖在錄音室專輯中重現現場演出的音效。他們也希望藉此澄清因首支美國熱門單曲《True》的成功而產生的誤解，並將音樂風格重塑為搖滾樂．
