比利時的蘿拉．費比安（Lara Fabian）是法語歌壇當紅歌手

１９９０年代中期在比利時，加拿大，法國等法語區走紅　成為天后級人物

９０年代光在歐洲賣出六百萬張專輯

這讓SONY注意起她　與其簽下一紙兩張英語專輯合約（法語大碟仍由Polydor唱片出版）

當時剛好席琳狄翁打算為家庭暫退歌壇, 同樣以法語歌曲起家的蘿拉剛好被捧來遞補其空缺

SONY邀來許多音樂人為其作嫁, 如 Rick Allison and Dave Pickell, Walter Afanasieff, Glen Ballard ,Patrick Leonard等．

１９９９年１１月首張英語同名專輯／個人事業第四張大碟［Lara Fibian］在先在法國推出．

前兩首單曲在比利時，法國，魁北克等法語區反應良好，第二首［I Will Love Again］也打入美國單曲榜＃３２，英國榜＃６３．

 

２０００年，蘿拉推出第三首單曲［I Am Who I Am／我就是我］

由Rick Allison, Lara Fabian, Evan Rogers, Carl Sturken創作，

美國Carl Sturken＋Evan Rogers製作一首歐式流行曲，

節奏中板，和聲豐厚，並襯托出蘿拉扎實有利的嗓音．

但《Dooyoo》 的評論褒貶不一：“這首歌相當朗朗上口，但不是特別令人難忘，這並不是對費比安真正聲樂能力的一個很好的介紹。
