In the wake of COVID-19 early this year, the largest monsoon flood since 1998 has been inundating and devastating the vast drainage-basin along Long River these days.  Needless to say, most of the media in Taiwan harbor an attitude of Schadenfreude toward the catastophe, gloating over the hardship and challenge that befellen the people and the government of China Mainland.
