I had an English recitation competition at school this Thursday. My story was “Bedtime for Billy”. It was a story about the two monster, Sully and Mike who have to “monster sit” Mike’s nephew, Billy.

I felt pretty about the competition because I usually run out of time when I am practicing. But when I was reading the story on the competition, I didn’t run out of time and there wasn’t any mistake. I felt very surprised about this.

When the school was over, I went home to do my homework. Then, my mom came home. She said that I am the first of the competition. I felt very unbelievable and turned on the internet to figure it out. And when I made sure that, I cheered loudly. To win the competition isn’t the most important thing. The most important thing is that the competition let me have a chance to practice my English in front of others.
