候館梅殘，溪橋柳細，

Faded plum bloosoms ln the lone cottage inn; slim weeping willows by the bridge over the brook,

草薰風暖搖征轡。

amid secented grass and warm breeze, he slightly pulled the halter.

離愁漸遠漸無窮。

The farther he wanders, the greater his wrench grows.

迢迢不斷如春水。

Like flooded spring water, flowing endlessly in river. 

寸寸柔腸, 盈盈粉淚,

Broken is her heart; filling with tears are her rosy cheeks.

樓高莫近危欄倚。

Do not let her lean against shaky babustrade to see him off.

平蕪盡處是春山，

Across the flat grassland lies hills of spring.

行人更在春山外。

and beyond the hills is that lone traveller.
