獨憐幽草澗邊生，

I enjoy watching the weeds that quietly overgrown along the gully,

上有黃鸝深樹鳴。

while on top of the deep groves orioles are twittering merrily.

春潮帶雨晚來急，

During spring nights the tide rises and the rain rushes,

野渡無人舟自橫。

only an empty boat over the ferry floating without a hurry.
