spouse- a person's partner in marriage.

espouse- choose and follow; as of theories, ideas, policies, strategies or plans.

statesman- is usually a politician, diplomat or other notable public figure who has had a long and respected career at the national or international level.

politician- is a person active in party politics, or a person holding or seeking office in government.  Broadly speaking, a "politician" can be anyone who seeks to achieve political power in any bureaucratic institution.

marching- refers to the organized, uniformed, steady and rhythmic walking forward, usually associated with military troops.

marching band- is a sport in which instrumental musicians perform for entertainment, exercise, and sometimes for competition. Most marching bands wear some kind of uniform (often of a military style) that includes the school or organization's name or symbol.

parade- is a procession of people, usually organized along a street, often in costume, and often accompanied by marching bands, floats or sometimes large balloons. Parades are held for a wide range of reasons, but are usually celebrations of some kind. 

demonstration-  is action by a mass group or collection of groups of people in favor of a political or other cause; it normally consists of walking in a mass march formation and either beginning with or meeting at a designated endpoint, or rally, to hear speakers.

Protestant- is a form of Christian faith and practice which originated with the Protestant Reformation, a movement against what its followers considered to be errors in the Roman Catholic Church. It is one of the three major divisions of Christendom, together with Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. Anglicanism is sometimes considered to be independent from Protestantism.

WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant)- is an informal, sometimes disparaging term for a group of high-status and influential White Americans of English Protestant ancestry. The term applies to a group believed to control disproportionate social, political, and financial power in the United States. It describes a group whose family wealth, education, status, and elite connections allow them a degree of opportunity held by few others.

contestant- one taking part in a contest; a competitor.

-one that contests or disputes something, such as an election or a will.

column- Architecture a vertical structure usually consisting of a base, a cylindrical shaft, and a capital, used 

as a support or standing alone as a monument.

-any of two or more vertical sections of type on a printed page, esp on a newspaper 

page.

-a regular article or feature in a paper.

situation comedy- often shortened to the portmanteau sitcom, is a genre of comedy that features characters sharing the same common environment, such as a home or workplace, with often humorous dialogue.

Orthodox Church- officially the Orthodox Catholic Church, also referred to as the Orthodox Church, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Orthodoxy, is the second largest Christian Church in the world, with an estimated 225–300 million adherents. The Eastern Orthodox Church is one of the oldest religious institutions in the world, teaching that it is the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church established by Jesus Christ in his Great Commission to the apostles, and practicing what it understands to be the original faith passed down from the Apostles.
