So, if you like water activities, you need to get ready for some serious fun!
Not just regular fun, but very serious fun. That means great fun on the amazing shores of Xiao Liuqiu!
At an ocean, or even a lake or river, there are shores.
That’s the land that is right next to the water, right?
You can stand there and enjoy some water activities.
In Xiao Liuqiu, the weather is often sunny and clear.
When it’s sunny, it means the sun is shining, right?
The warm water there is perfect for activities like snorkeling, swimming, and more.
Snorkeling is when you swim with a tube that lets you breathe, right?
But it’s a little different from scuba diving.
That’s when you also need to wear a tank of air or oxygen.

They can float.
You sit on them and pedal just like on a regular bike.
The pedals turn a big wheel under the water, which makes the hydrobike move forward.

They are a great way to get some exercise and explore the ocean.
The great thing about hydrobikes is that they don’t have motors.
This means they are environmentally friendly and also less dangerous for sea creatures living in the water.

Right! Well, these are special bicycles that you can ride in the water.
Now, friends, when you hear the first part of the word—the prefix hydro—it means it has to do with water.
So, you can say they are water bikes or water bicycles.
Exactly!
You need to push your feet forward to make the bike go forward, but you will always stay above the water.
That’s because these bikes can float.
That’s what float means—when you can stay above the water, it means you can float.
If you want to learn how to swim, you first need to know how to float!
That’s right!
Well, you sit on these hydrobikes and pedal.
Pedal is the action you do when you push your feet on the pedals, right?
And this is what you do when you ride a bicycle—you use your feet and pedal, just like how you do on a regular bike.
We also heard that hydrobikes are a great way to get exercise and explore the ocean.
The ocean is, well, the massive body of water that stretches all around the earth.
