他的音樂比同儕更能抓住黑人R&B/Soul的技巧與精神
１９８８年初　喬治推出首張專輯〔Faith／信念〕第三首單曲〔Father Figure〕

此曲仍是他的作品　內容充滿一種感官式的性感

原本喬治打算將其製作成快板舞曲

後來在混音時　決定放棄最初構想　改成抒情曲調

在這首編曲飄渺的歌曲中　喬治以一種氣音式的R&B/靈魂唱腔來演繹
並以真假音相互交替的方式詮釋

讓〔Father Figure〕充滿一股虛幻飄渺的空靈之感
聽起來非常舒服
這首抒情傑作在美國流行榜得到冠軍　成為喬治第三首冠軍（如果將Wham時期也算下去的話　則是第六首）

雖然很早就聽過喬治麥可這號人物了
不過我對他音樂的認識直到９０年代才開始
〔Father Figure〕便是我跟第一次接觸的喬治歌曲
以前由於不了解歌詞之故
光看歌名　還以為是一首和”父親”有關的親情歌曲
後來才從網路介紹得知〔Father Figure〕是首情歌
