１９８７年４月，２７歲半的美國創作歌手蘇珊薇格（Suzanne Vega）推出第二張大碟［Solitude Standing／孤獨站立］（A&M唱片發行）

由Steve Addabbo和Lenny Kaye製作．蘇珊創作所有歌曲．

專輯走民謠搖滾風格，樂評出色．

１９８７年夏天，蘇珊以第二單曲［Luka ／路卡］拿到美國告示牌單曲榜＃３，提名葛萊美獎三項大獎，讓她一曲成名．

蘇珊說，打擊樂的目的是重現當某人感到害怕時「血液發出」的聲音，而她從未聽說過工業音樂。
