１９５８年３月　安迪吉布（Andy Gibb）出生於英國曼徹斯特

父親為蘇格蘭／愛爾蘭後裔　母親是英格蘭／愛爾蘭後裔

上有一姐三兄

當年８月舉家移居澳大利亞昆士蘭　最後定居雪梨

１９６７年１月　隨兄長回英國　後者組成比吉斯（Bee Gibbs）　逐漸獲得國際聲名

少年時代在英國曼島　西班牙伊比薩島成長

１９７４年　比吉斯回澳洲訓練　也要求弟弟回去

１９７５年　１７歲的安迪在澳大利亞／紐西蘭發行首支單曲［Words and Music］（ATA公司出版）　打進澳洲單曲榜＃７８

１９７６年７月, 與女友Kim結婚　但兩人發現這是個錯誤

分快便分居 只是之後Kim卻發現自己懷孕　生下安迪獨生女Peta

但夫妻仍在１９７８年１月離婚

安迪跟女兒不親　據報導只在１９８１年見過她一次

 

１９７６年１月　比吉斯的唱片公司RSO老板 Robert Stigwood聽過安迪的試唱帶後  簽下他為旗下藝人

安迪開始跟兄長寫歌  大哥Barry與製作人 Albhy Galuten ,Karl Richardson共同製作

１９７７年４月　剛滿１９歲的安迪推出個人首支全球單曲［I Just Wantto Be Your Everything／我只想成為妳的一切］

此曲由Barry Gibb譜寫（據安迪回想大哥只花２０分鐘就完成）　旋律討好

Barry Gibb-Albhy Galuten-Karl Richardson三人組製作成一首流行迪斯可舞曲

Barry負責合聲

當時正值迪斯可熱潮期　加上身為熱門團體比吉斯的幼弟

［I Just Wantto Be Your Everything］立刻受到歡迎

在７月登上美國單曲榜冠軍四週（７-８月三週, ９月一週）　成為百萬金唱片

１９７７年度排行則高居亞軍

副榜──Easy Listening榜＃９　靈魂榜＃１９

原生故鄉英國出乎意料只拿到＃２６

家鄉之二澳洲則在秋天封王七週（年終＃３）

國際反應也熱烈：加拿大冠軍（金唱片, 年終＃３）　奧地利冠軍　紐西蘭亞軍（年終＃９）

 

［I Just Wantto Be Your Everything］收在１９７７年９月安迪首張大碟［Flowing Rivers／流動之河］　登上美國專輯榜＃１９　成為百萬白金唱片（英國沒入榜,澳洲＃２５）

［I Just Wantto Be Your Everything］讓安迪一舉成名　躍升歌壇當紅偶像

彼時早就成名的比吉斯也因［Saturday Night Fever／週末夜狂熱］電影原聲帶大紅
