1. LOGLINE
When a peaceful dolphin kingdom is conquered by a monstrous octopus sorcerer and his shark army, a young dolphin named Jibao becomes the last hope of his people. Guided by a mysterious celestial jellyfish, he must journey across the worlds oceans to obtain three legendary treasures, unite the creatures of the sea, and return home to confront the monster who has enslaved his family—only to discover that true heroism may demand the ultimate sacrifice.
2. ONE-PARAGRAPH PITCH
Deep beneath the Western Pacific stands the Dolphin Castle, a magnificent underwater kingdom built from coral skeletons and dazzling seashells. For generations, dolphins have lived there peacefully, until a powerful leopard-spotted octopus sorcerer known as Scissor Tiger invades the castle with an army of sharks and enslaves the dolphin population.
Only one young dolphin escapes: Jibao, an intelligent, independent-minded bottlenose dolphin who often explores a secret coral reef far from the crowded castle.
When Jibao learns that his parents and fellow dolphins have been captured, he refuses to abandon his people. A mysterious celestial jellyfish reveals that three legendary treasures are needed to defeat Scissor Tiger: the Sun Anemone, the Moon Urchin, and the magical Swordfish Spike. Jibao embarks on an extraordinary journey across tropical waters, the Arctic Ocean, Greenland, Hawaii, and the underwater palace of the Sea God.
Along the way, he receives unexpected help from squid, sea turtles, seals, blue whales, generals, scholars, and other creatures. He also discovers that a mysterious power has been quietly arranging these encounters—and that the beautiful Mermaid Princess may be behind his entire quest.
When Jibao finally returns to the Dolphin Castle, he must face the shark army and the seemingly invincible octopus sorcerer. He succeeds in freeing his people, but the magical sword demands a terrible price. Jibao gives his life to destroy Scissor Tiger.
Yet death is not the end.
The Mermaid Princess arrives and uses tears that become pearls to restore Jibao. His dolphin body transforms into that of a human prince, revealing a secret connection between them that reaches back to a previous life.
What begins as a quest to save a kingdom ultimately becomes a story about courage, friendship, sacrifice, ecological responsibility, love, and the possibility of redemption beyond death.
3. STORY SYNOPSIS
The Dolphin Castle
The story opens in a spectacular underwater kingdom in the Western Pacific. The Dolphin Castle resembles a gigantic transparent jellyfish. Coral forms its pillars, while colorful shells cover its walls like stars scattered across the ocean floor.
The dolphins are highly intelligent and have developed an advanced underwater civilization. Bottlenose dolphins, spinner dolphins, striped dolphins, and other dolphin communities share the castle.
But prosperity has created a new problem. As the dolphin population grows, space becomes scarce. Rival groups begin fighting over territory, weakening the unity of the kingdom.
Among them is Jibao, a young bottlenose dolphin with an independent spirit. He prefers exploring a beautiful coral reef outside the castle to spending his days amid the crowded noise of the city.
The reef becomes his secret refuge.
Then disaster strikes.
The Fall of the Dolphin Kingdom
While Jibao is away from the castle, Scissor Tiger, an ancient and poisonous leopard-spotted octopus who has practiced dark magic for more than eight centuries, attacks the Dolphin Castle with a powerful shark army.
A flounder warns Jibao not to return.
Jibao learns that the dolphins have been enslaved and that Scissor Tiger intends to use them to spy on humans, raid ships, seize treasures, and eventually dominate the entire Western Pacific.
A celestial jellyfish named Meilixi appears and tells Jibao that he is the only dolphin who escaped the sorcerers control.
He is now the last hope of his people.
The Three Treasures
To defeat Scissor Tiger, Jibao must obtain three legendary objects.
The first is the Sun Anemone, capable of producing blinding light powerful enough to temporarily disable sharks and penetrate the octopuss hypnotic ink.
The second is the Moon Urchin, whose venom can paralyze Scissor Tigers powerful tentacles.
The third is the Magical Swordfish Spike, an ancient weapon capable of penetrating the monsters seemingly invulnerable body.
Jibao begins his quest alone.
But he soon discovers that he is not truly alone.
The Sun Anemone
Traveling south through the ocean, Jibao receives unexpected assistance from a glowing krill that illuminates his path through the darkness.
He eventually discovers the Sun Anemone guarded by a gigantic electric eel.
With the help of a school of squid and an old sea turtle, Jibao creates a diversion. The turtle deliberately provokes the eel while the squid release clouds of ink.
Jibao seizes the opportunity and retrieves the Sun Anemone.
During the adventure, however, he realizes that someone has secretly arranged for the animals to help him.
Who is this mysterious benefactor?
The Moon Urchin
Jibao then travels north toward the Arctic Ocean.
He meets seals and eventually reaches Greenland, where a gigantic blue whale tells him that the thirteen-headed sea serpent guards the Moon Urchin.
The blue whale deliberately challenges the serpent to a swimming race around Greenland.
While the serpent is distracted, Jibao retrieves the Moon Urchin.
Again, the young dolphin realizes that someone knew exactly where he would be and had arranged the help waiting for him.
Dr. Seahorse
Jibao travels to Hawaii and finds the residence of the brilliant Dr. Seahorse.
The old scholar studies Scissor Tigers history and discovers the monsters weakness.
The sorcerers only vulnerable point is his navel.
Dr. Seahorse also confirms that the celestial jellyfish who guided Jibao is closely connected to the Sea Gods daughter, the Mermaid Princess.
Jibao begins to understand that his quest is part of a much larger plan.
The Generals of the Sea God
Before reaching the Sea Gods palace, Jibao and Dr. Seahorse must pass three military stations.
The first is commanded by General Lanternfish.
Jibao must fight a powerful swordfish warrior named Wula. Though physically smaller, Jibaos speed and agility allow him to defeat his opponent.
The second station belongs to General Coelacanth, the wise "living fossil."
Instead of fighting, Jibao chooses an intellectual challenge.
He asks two seemingly simple questions:
Why is a sea anemone called an "anemone" despite not being a plant? And why is a sea urchin associated with the word "urchin" despite having nothing to do with gall?
His unusual reasoning defeats the experienced scholar.
Jibao also notices a magical invisibility cloak among the generals treasures. Coelacanth lends it to him.
At the third station, General Stingray challenges Jibao to tell a joke.
Jibao succeeds—and receives a special pair of protective gloves that will later allow him to handle the poisonous Moon Urchin safely.
The Sea Gods Palace
Jibao and Dr. Seahorse finally reach the magnificent palace of the Sea God, Dama.
Dama is away dealing with an oil spill caused by human activity.
His chief administrator, Minister Lobster, receives the travelers.
After learning of Jibaos mission, Dama agrees to lend him the Magical Swordfish Spike and orders an elite mixed force of swordfish and marlin to accompany him against the shark army.
Jibao is warned that the magical weapon may cost him his life.
He accepts the risk.
His answer is simple: a life lived in safety while his people remain enslaved would have no meaning.
The Expedition
The combined swordfish-marlin army begins its expedition toward the Dolphin Castle.
But Scissor Tigers spies discover their approach.
The sorcerer prepares his shark army for the decisive battle.
He dreams not only of defeating Damas forces but of eventually taking control of the entire ocean realm.
The final conflict is now inevitable.
The Battle Outside the Castle
The two armies collide.
Jibao releases the Sun Anemone.
Its blinding light overwhelms the shark soldiers, allowing the swordfish and marlin forces to break through their formation.
The shark army collapses.
But Scissor Tiger has another weapon: hypnotic black ink.
He uses it to control the dolphins and sends them against the invading army.
Jibao and Dr. Seahorse recognize the spell and release the Sun Anemone again.
The dolphins awaken.
Jibao finds his mother.
But his father is dead.
He learns that his father led a group of young dolphins in resistance against the invading sharks and died defending the castle.
The victory suddenly becomes deeply personal.
Jibao must transform his grief into determination.
The Final Battle
Wearing the magical invisibility cloak, Jibao infiltrates the castle.
He opens the gates from within, allowing the allied army to enter.
The shark forces retreat into the central government hall.
Scissor Tiger prepares for his final battle.
Jibao uses the Sun Anemone to weaken the sorcerers magic and the Moon Urchin to paralyze his tentacles.
The Magical Swordfish Spike allows Jibao to cut through the monsters seemingly indestructible limbs.
But Scissor Tiger is cunning.
He deliberately places Jibaos friend in danger, knowing that Jibao will reveal himself to save him.
Jibao is captured.
The monster tears him apart.
The young hero dies.
Yet his blood awakens the hidden power of the magical sword.
The sword flies through the water and strikes Scissor Tiger directly in his vulnerable navel.
The sorcerer is destroyed.
The Dolphin Castle is finally liberated.
The Mermaid Princess
The dolphins mourn Jibao.
His mother holds his broken body. His friends and allies grieve around him.
Then a beautiful song fills the palace.
The Mermaid Princess arrives.
She takes Jibaos head and torso into her arms and uses her golden hair and a magical jade hairpin to repair his wounds.
Her tears fall.
Each tear transforms into a luminous pearl.
She places the pearls into Jibaos mouth and kisses him.
A miracle occurs.
Jibaos dolphin skin falls away.
A human body emerges.
He is a handsome young prince.
The mystery is finally revealed.
Jibao is not merely a dolphin hero. He is the reincarnation of a prince who once loved the Mermaid Princess and promised to return to her in another life.
He remembers his promise.
After saving his people, he asks the Mermaid Princess to marry him.
The story ends with the prince and the princess moving together into the blue ocean, surrounded by the cheers and blessings of the sea creatures.

5. THEMES
Courage and Responsibility

Sacrifice
The central question of the novel is whether one individual can willingly sacrifice personal happiness and even life itself for the survival of others.
Friendship Across Species
The quest brings together dolphins, squid, sea turtles, seals, whales, swordfish, marlin, jellyfish, seahorses, stingrays, and many other creatures.
Love and Reincarnation
The relationship between Jibao and the Mermaid Princess expands the adventure into a mythic romance involving memory, destiny, death, and rebirth.
Environmental Awareness
The Sea Gods struggle with oil spills, pollution, waste, and human damage to marine ecosystems introduces an important ecological dimension.
Unity
The internal conflicts among the dolphins make them vulnerable to invasion. Their eventual liberation demonstrates that solidarity is essential to survival.
6. UNIQUE SELLING POINTS
1. An original underwater fantasy world
The novel creates an imaginative civilization beneath the ocean, complete with castles, armies, scholars, magical objects, generals, royal families, and supernatural creatures.
2. A global oceanic adventure
The narrative travels across the Western Pacific, tropical waters, the Arctic Ocean, Greenland, Hawaii, and the underwater palace of the Sea God.
3. A strong heroic arc
Jibao progresses from an independent young dolphin to a reluctant hero, strategist, warrior, liberator, and ultimately a sacrificial hero.
4. Multiple layers of fantasy
The story combines marine mythology, magic, adventure, humor, ecological themes, romance, reincarnation, and heroic fantasy.
5. Cross-generational appeal
Young readers can enjoy the adventure and imaginative creatures, while older readers can engage with the deeper themes of sacrifice, environmental responsibility, destiny, and love.

9. NARRATIVE STRUCTURE
The novel follows a classic heroic quest structure:
Ordinary World → Catastrophe → Call to Adventure → Mentor → Three Trials → Acquisition of Magical Weapons → Return → Major Battle → Sacrifice → Victory → Resurrection → Romantic Revelation
The three treasures provide the story with a clear episodic adventure structure, while the mystery of the Mermaid Princess creates a secondary narrative thread that gradually increases suspense.
The final revelation transforms the story retrospectively: Jibaos quest is not only a political struggle to liberate his people but also a journey toward fulfilling a promise from a previous life.
10. COMMERCIAL AND ADAPTATION POTENTIAL
The Dolphin Castle has strong potential for visual adaptation because of its distinctive marine environment and ensemble cast.

11. ENVIRONMENTAL DIMENSION
Although the central narrative is a fantasy adventure, the novel incorporates a contemporary ecological concern.
The Sea God is overwhelmed by the consequences of human industrial development: marine pollution, waste, wastewater, and oil spills.
This element provides the story with a bridge between fantasy and real-world environmental awareness.
The ocean is not merely the background of the story.
It is itself a living world that needs protection.

13. PROPOSED POSITIONING STATEMENT
The Dolphin Castle is an imaginative ocean fantasy about a young dolphin who travels across the worlds seas to gather three legendary treasures, liberate his enslaved people, and confront an ancient octopus sorcerer. Beneath its adventurous surface, the novel explores courage, sacrifice, friendship, ecological responsibility, love, and reincarnation.
At its heart, it asks a timeless question:
What is a hero willing to sacrifice to save the people he loves?
And its final answer is both tragic and hopeful:
A life given for others may not truly end when love remembers the promise.

-
Middle Grade/Upper Middle Grade 讀者
-

-

-
繪本
-
Graphic Novel
-
-
