metro poem (both picture and poem)

Pound(龐德1885 –1972)

In the Station of the Metro(地鐵站)

The apparition of these faces in a crowd ;

人潮中這些魅臉

petals on a wet, black bough.   

黑枝頭上，潮濕的花瓣

 

This metro poem is contributed by Japanese Haiku(俳句) and ukiyo-e print(浮世繪)--Women Admiring Plum Blossoms at Night(女賞夜梅圖).

The two verse lines are juxtaposited,in fact, superposited in both form and significence.

Ezra Pound practices the imagism poetry with Japanses Haiku, but he cant read Japanese, however studying Chinese to understand them.

另外欣賞日本徘聖松尾芭蕉(Matsuo Basho))的詩:

「花不會想到

與比鄰的花競妍

只是開花」

(簡譯不具俳句格式)

這首俳句傳達了忘我的境界，跟王勃的「齊物論」有關。詩

人認為萬物是平等的，人在參與自然活動中遺忘的自己，而

以自然意象和聲象呈現，故已不再是人的活動了。

「時時

     遮雲讓

             觀月者憩息」

松尾芭蕉在他的行旅中，將心裡的內在意涵，和外在所見的

意象結合，寫出俳句。一首詩等於一個小宇宙，充滿美與善

的啟示。

Ezra Pound 的意象詩理論，可以說明 Basho 的俳句:

"…that which presents an intellectural and

emotional complex in an instant of time…"
