Matisse Series 3 – Blue Nude

馬諦斯於1952年對安德烈‧維德特說：「應該知道保留小時候與事物接觸時，這份鮮明的感覺，並存有這份天真的性情。一方面我們是成年人，一方面我們在面對現有的事物時，也應該盡力使自己像一位小孩，不要讓想像力被現有的事物所佔有。」（維德特，1952）

藍色裸女系列的作品承繼了爵士系列的剪貼畫作，也是接近馬諦斯生命終點代表性較高的作品
馬諦斯改用藍色的單色 monochrome 取代了爵士系列中〈馬、女騎士及小丑 Le Cheval, l’écuyère et le clown 〉、〈馬戲團 Le Cirque 〉鮮豔豐富的多色 polychrome ，更像是〈伊卡爾  Icare 〉延伸而來的極簡風格

Blue Nudes refer to a series of gouaches découpées by Henri Matisse, executed in 1952. They represent female nudes either seated or standing, and are among Matisse's final works in any medium. During the early to mid-1940s Matisse was in poor health. Eventually by 1950 he stopped painting in favor of his paper cutouts. The Blue Nudes, are a major series' of Matisse's final body of works known as the cutouts. They are widely viewed as an important and innovative group of Matisse's collages.
