巨艦隻緣因利往，Large ships came through for their profit;
扁舟亦是為名來。Small boats came along for the vanity.
往來有愧先生德，But Your lofty virtue made us ashamed,
特地通宵過釣台。 So I passed your fishing place at night.
P.S.: The protagonist of the poem is Yan Guang (嚴光), a close and helpful friend to Liu Xiu (劉秀) when they were young. Later, Liu restored the Han Dynasty and invited Yan to assist him. Yan declined the offer and retreated to the subject fishing place in the Fuchun River, which is now known as Yan Shaol.
