I don’t mean the aged persons cannot take a step forward anymore. They can if they own themselves a pair of strong legs.  Rather, I think most seniors would’ve confronted inconveniences in modern IT environment.

Recently, my wife bought a new printer, and she and I worked together, step by step according to manual, to set it up.  But the printer just could hook up to her desk computer only, but not her smartphone.  In the meantime, I had a problem too: my smartphone could not connect to the Wi-Fi at my home; no matter how I’ve tried, it failed me.  We were thus left in high and dry.

Then my daughter came to help us.  You know, she used to be a lawyer, and now is a full-time housewife, having been nothing to do with IT.  But before we knew it, she "troubleshot" all problems for us.

I asked her how she did it.  She displayed the procedures to us, which were exactly what had followed, but we just could not make it.  Why not?  Lack of better English comprehension, brighter eyes, nimbler fingers?  I think it is because we are not of the same generation as our kids, who have been growing up in an IT environment.
