中文沒有的虛主詞：It's regretable that...(令人遺憾)

當局竟容許此事發生實在令人遺憾。

使用英文時我們很習慣和中文一樣的以人為主詞的用法，例如：
We are sorry for this military loss, yet we will win next time."
我們對這次戰事失利感到抱歉，下一次我們將贏得勝利。」
但是，新聞其實常出現以事件本身為主詞的用法。就像這一次的原住民紋面翻譯錯誤，因此而向大眾致歉的說法即為：
"The error was most regrettable," said Tong,
himself of the aboriginal Paiwan tribe.
