１９９０年７月２１日，將滿２４歲的香港歌壇紅星關淑怡（藝名「シャーリー・カーン／Shirley Kwan／莎莉．關」），在日本同時推出第二張日語大碟［Borderless／無界限］（Apollon Co., Ltd.發行）

大碟唯一單曲──也是關淑怡第二支日語單曲［ホノルル・シティ・ライツ／Honolulu City Lights／檀香山市燈光］

這是翻唱夏威夷歌手Keola Beamer於１９７８年創作並灌錄的英語歌曲。

這首歌是同名專輯《Honolulu City Lights》的開場曲，該專輯成為有史以來最暢銷的夏威夷專輯。

後來美國兄妹組合卡本特（Carpenters）也翻唱過．

關淑怡版由森本抄夜子改寫日語詞，

新川博編曲，被製作成一首歌謠流行／抒情曲，

旋律優美，編曲精緻，關淑怡以她細緻的嗓音溫柔詮釋，感性迷人．

此曲搭上福特Festiva日本廣告歌．

就跟許多進軍日本的華人歌手一樣，無論專輯和單曲皆未入榜．
