１９９０年１１月, ２７歲的美國黑人天后惠妮休斯頓（Whitney Houston）推出第三張大碟〔I’m Your Baby Tonight〕（Arista唱片出版）

由於前兩張專輯較為流行取向

這次便較為著重黑人樂風的表現

邀來多組名製作人如LA Reid & Babyface       ,Narada Michael Walden, Stevie Wonder操刀, 惠妮也擔任執行製作

只是樂評普遍不佳, 連帶商業銷售不如預期

〔I’m Your Baby Tonight〕只登上Billboard專輯榜＃３　退榜前賣出３００萬張（至今累計４百多萬張）　名列１９９１年終美國專輯＃１０　

英國＃５（白金／３０萬張＋）　日本＃６（二白金／５０萬張＋）　德國＃３（白金／５０萬張＋）　法國＃９（白金／３０萬張＋）

全球８００萬張（至今１０００萬張）

雖仍是一張暢銷專輯, 但明顯不如前兩張

 

 

首支同名主打順利拿下美國榜冠軍　英國榜＃５

１９９０年１２月，惠妮推出第二首主打［All the Man That I Need／我需要的男人］

此曲由Dean Pitchford＆Michael Gore譜寫，１９８１年首次由Linda Clifford灌錄，推出單曲，但沒入榜．

惠妮版由Narada Michael Walden製作成一首R&B／靈魂／流行抒情曲

旋律悅耳，休斯頓以她奶油般的柔美嗓音如泣如訴的演繹，並有肯尼吉（Kenny G.）貢獻薩克斯風演奏，獲得好評．
