１９８０年成立明尼蘇達州聖保羅市的潑婦（Vixen）是１９８０年末／１９９０年代初短暫走紅的美國女性華麗金屬樂團

被稱為‘女子版的邦喬飛’（the female Bon Jovi）

１９８５年搬到洛杉磯發展。

１９８７年後為經典時期的團員陣容：Jan Kuehnemund (lead guitar), Janet Gardner (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Share Ross (bass guitar), and Roxy Petrucci

１９８８年與EMI Manhattan唱片簽約, 同年８月發行同名大碟［Vixen］

由David Cole ＋Rick Neigher主製作七首歌曲

Spencer Proffer製作三首歌曲

著名創作歌手理察瑪爾克斯（Richard Marx）也製作一曲

 

首支主打為［Edge of a Broken Heart／失戀邊緣］

由理察瑪爾克斯與Fee Waybill譜寫, 前者製作成一首走華麗金屬搖滾

旋律討好, Janet Gardner的演繹強勁有力

［Edge of a Broken Heart］登上Billboard單曲榜＃２６, 副榜－主流搖滾榜＃３４, 成績不錯, 讓潑婦受到樂壇矚目

成為當時屈指可數的熱門女子重金屬樂團。

［Vixen］在美國登上Billboard專輯榜＃４１, 由於四首單曲表現不差,銷售平穩, 最後拿到金唱片（５０萬張）
