1. lamentation

Definition: an act or instance of lamenting

Example: bitter lamentations for the dead

2. disown

Definition: to refuse to acknowledge as one's own ; to repudiate any connection or identification with

Example: Her parents threatened to disown her if she didn't go back to school.

3. morality

Definition: a literary or other imaginative work teaching a moral lesson ; a doctrine or system of moral conduct

Example: The group is calling for a return to traditional morality.

4. masterful

Definition: inclined and usually competent to act as master ; suggestive of a domineering nature

Example: His manner was masterful and abrupt.

5. inadequacy

Definition: the quality or state of being inadequate

Example: the inadequacy of our servings was soon apparent, as hungry guests started clamoring for seconds

6. interpretation

Definition: a particular adaptation or version of a work, method, or style

Example: a literal interpretation of the law

7. forethought

Definition: a thinking or planning out in advance

Example: Her decision showed a lack of forethought.

8. proclamation

Definition: something proclaimed; specifically : an official formal public announcement

Example: The President issued a proclamation which freed the slaves.

9. doctrine

Definition: something that is taught ; a principle or position or the body of principles in a branch of knowledge or system of belief

Example: The government was founded on a doctrine of equality for all people.

Definition: having paramount rank, dignity, or importance : outstanding, supreme

Example: She's the preeminent chef in a city that has many good ones.

Definition: an orthodox belief or practice

Definition: governed by or conforming to the dictates of conscience :scrupulous

Example: She has always been a very conscientious worker.

13. petulantly

Definition: insolent or rude in speech or behavior

Example: Her tone was petulant and angry.

14. exhaust

Definition: to drain of strength or energy, wear out, or fatigue greatly

Example: If they keep spending this way, they'll exhaust their savings.

15. speculation

Definition: the contemplation or consideration of some subject
