官階同。但士官長為Master Sergeant，一等士官長為Chief Master Sergeant，

士兵為airman。

註:(美軍)Sergeant Major-特等一級士官長。此為職位，兼具階級，但不得保留職業專長。此職位為單位指揮官任命之士官兵管理顧問，須加上單位名，例如營或團士官長。 若為大訓練單位或司令部，則為士官團團長，通常由first sergeant擔任。若為軍種或兵種司令之士官兵管理顧問，則為特等特級士官長。例如陸軍的Sergeant Major of the Army，為陸軍最高級士官。但若三軍聯合參謀首長主席，任用陸軍特等特級士官長為Senior Enlisted Advisor(SAE)，則Sergeant Major of the Army成為陸軍第二高級士官。(SAE)可能得譯為超級士官長，全國只有一位。且至目前只有兩任，現任為2011年上任之陸戰隊特等士官長。因此陸戰隊特等特級士官長，成為陸戰隊第二高階士官。
