At the Sino-American summit this time, President Trump and President Xi both mentioned the history that China and America were allies against Jap during WWII.
In Taiwan, the DPP administration cared less about the announcement because they think that was the history of China, not Taiwan; not to mention that the allies defected from their spiritual motherland: Jap.
But some KMT "pundits" were also unhappy with the historical framing because they think America was an ally of the then-Nationalist China, not the now-Communist China. A basic idea: regardless of which party represented China at different times, the ROC or the PRC, China is the same.
Trump’s narration of history may be a covert stance the US is taking now: the One China Principle.

川習二人自曝其短，談二戰成了自己打臉笑話。
