紛紛墜葉飄香砌。The steps are covered with scattered fallen leaves.
夜寂靜，寒聲碎。 In the quiet of night, the rustling leaves add to the chill.
真珠簾卷玉樓空， I scroll the pearl screen, revealing a splendid but empty chamber.
天淡銀河垂地。On pale skies, the tail of galaxies seems to touch the earth.
年年今夜， This night every year
月華如練， The same silk-like moonlight.
長是人千里。The same distance separates the loved one and me.
愁腸已斷無由醉， No wine can drown my sorrow over a broken heart.
酒未到，先成淚。 All the wine becomes teardrops.
殘燈明滅枕頭欹， By the flickering lamp and slanting pillow,
諳盡孤眠滋味。 A lonesome slumber is hard to come by.
都來此事， All I have to do is wait and pine?
眉間心上， My eyebrows frown, my thoughts linger;
無計相迴避。Yet there is no way to evade.
