磨針溪，在眉州象耳山下。世傳李太白讀書山中，未成，棄去。過小溪，逢老媼方磨鐵杵，問之，曰：“欲作針。”太白感其意，還卒業。媼自言姓武。今溪旁有武氏岩。

The Needle Grinding Brook is located beneath the Mt. Xianger of Meizhou. It is said that Li Bai was once learned in the mountains, but he gave up before completing his studies. When he passed the brook, he saw an old woman grinding an iron pestle. Li wondered, and the woman told him she wanted to grind the pestle into a needle. Her words inspired Li, and then he returned to finish his learning. The woman claimed her family name was Wu, and now there is a Wu Stele on the bank of the brook.
