初，張詠在成都，聞準入相，謂其僚屬曰：“寇公奇材，惜學術不足爾。”及準出陝，詠適自成都罷還，準嚴供帳，大為具待。詠將去，準送之郊，問曰：“何以教準？”詠徐曰：“《霍光傳》不可不讀也。”準莫諭其意，歸，取其傳讀之，至“不學無術”，笑曰：“此張公謂我矣。”
