１９９６年１０月初，２９歲的費絲推出第五主打［I Cant Do That Anymore／我再也做不下去了］,

由鄉村樂巨星艾倫傑克遜（Alan Jackson）創作，

講述一位女性為取悅丈夫而犧牲自己的個性，放棄工作、剪短頭髮、承擔家務的故事。最終，她要求得到認可，並表示她再也無法繼續這樣做了，因為「女人需要一些屬於自己的東西」。

１９９４年，希爾隨艾倫傑克遜巡迴演出期間，請他為她第二張專輯寫一首歌。希爾拒絕傑克遜最初提交的歌曲，但在他拿出［I Cant Do That Anymore］後，她接受了。

傑克遜的妻子讀歌詞後，詢問這首歌是不是關於她的。
