１９８１年１０月，英國創作歌手艾維斯卡斯特洛＆吸引力樂團（Elvis Costello＆The Attractions）推出第六張錄音室大碟［Almost Blue／幾乎憂鬱］（F-Beat／Columbia唱片發行）。

這是他與吸引力合作的第五張專輯．

專輯於１９８１年５月在田納西州納什維爾錄製。

與卡斯特洛之前的作品不同，這張專輯是一張翻唱專輯，全部由鄉村音樂歌曲組成。

在［Armed Forces］（1979）之後，卡斯特洛的兩張錄音室專輯商業成績不理想，因此他萌生錄製翻唱專輯的想法。

專輯由Billy Sherrill製作，錄音過程氣氛緊張．

卡斯特洛在錄製專輯期間身體狀況不佳，個人生活也相當坎坷，這些都反映在他的選曲上。

所有曲目都表達了一種「憂鬱」的心境，專輯封面也體現這一點。

評價從褒貶不一，他們對演唱表現意見複雜．在卡斯特洛的專輯排名榜單上也一直處於靠後的位置。
