１９９０年６月７日，２８歲的日本歌壇女皇松田聖子（Seiko Matsuda）正式進軍美國，以“Seiko＂名義，推出事業第１７張大碟──也是第二張英文專輯〔Seiko／聖子〕（CBS SONY發行）

從１９８９年起，聖子便專心待在美國籌備這張大碟.

SONY動員旗下諸多美國大牌製作人與歌手為其作嫁
諸如拉丁流行天后葛洛麗雅伊斯特芬（Gloria Eastefan） , 麥可波頓（Michael Bolton）, 街頭頑童（New Kids On The Block）

製作群包括Maurice Starr，Emilio Estefan Gómez ， Giorgio Moroder ，Philip Ramone，Clay Ostwald，Jorge Casas，Jellybean等

大碟成本花費近５０００萬日圓　兩支MV成本３０００萬日圓

由Michael Jay, Michael Cruz創作／編曲，並製作成一首House／流行舞曲

旋律琅琅上口，節拍彈性有力，聖子的少女稚嫩嗓音詮釋嬌美

MV中，松田載歌載舞．

原本［All the way to Heaven］預定為美國首支主打，但後來被［The Right Combination］取代，此曲只在英國推出．

〔Seiko〕登上日本專輯榜亞軍，榜上銷售數字19万2330，總銷售３０萬張

名列１９９０年日本最暢銷專輯＃７０

另入榜澳洲專輯榜＃８６

根據SONY資料，盈利的轉折點是３０萬張專輯銷量。

結果，專輯銷售在日本本土已達此數字（３０萬張），

北美和歐洲達到１５萬張，在東南亞達到７萬張

整體來說，全球表現中等成功

可是美國銷售不佳，使得聖子進軍國際夢碎，只能回家鄉繼續發展．
