開始融入明顯的流行曲風，獲得高度讚揚, 成為當代福音樂的經典作品。

反應成功, 最後在美銷售突破１００萬張,

這使艾美成為當代福音界首位拿到金／白金唱片的歌手。

１９８４年,艾美推出第五張錄音室大碟［Straight Ahead／直接前進］

仍由Brown Bannister製作, 繼續顯示她積極轉向當代流行曲風的企圖, 融入電吉他與合成樂器,主流味道更濃,依舊獲得出色評價。
