原名Nicholas Berry

１９８５年以BBC電視肥皂劇影集［EastEnders／倫敦東區］((1985-1990)走紅．

１９８６年，貝瑞暫時從《倫敦東區》休息，展開音樂生涯.

首張單曲［Every Loser Wins／每個失敗者都是勝利者］（BBC唱片發行）

由Simon May、Stewart James和Bradley James創作，並製作成一首流行抒情曲，

旋律優美，在鋼琴伴奏下，尼克緩緩詮釋．

此曲在１９８６年夏天的《倫敦東區》大量出現，

因此１０月推出單曲時，便登上英國單曲榜三週冠軍，成為１９８６年英國第二大暢銷單曲（僅次於 The Communards 的《Dont Leave Me This Way》）。
