1. armor
Definition: defensive covering for the body; especially : covering
Example: The officers are required to wear bulletproof body armor.
2. torment
Definition: the infliction of torture (as by rack or wheel)
Example: No one could understand his inner torment.

Definition: to seat in a place associated with a position of authority or influence
