Since my retirement from Yuda, I have been trying to seize the chance to sharpen both my English and French speaking abilities. I joined the English conversation class in Chung-li Baptist Church for only a season two years ago, and then I entered Tamkang Graduate School studying French again. I just finished taking the required credits this summer, having free Fridays to be happily back to the class! Our teacher, Professor Lee, has devoted so much time and effort into making progress of our English conversation. His inspiration, sense of humor, brilliant personality, and determination brought a new perspective on the improvement of my English learning. Besides, I do appreciate his great passion for teaching us!

 Last Friday, our English conversation class had a wonderful time during our field trip in Longtan. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery in the countryside as well as the delicious luncheon in a Hakkanese restaurant. While walking for 2 hours after crossing Full Moon Bridge, I was deeply impressed by the charming colorful cosmos, planted for fertilizer like rapeseed flowers. It was a pity that we were too hungry, busy eating, to take pictures of the tasty food on the table!

 Longtan Lake or Longtan Tourist Pond is a lake in Shanglin Village, Longtan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The lake is known for the Buddhist temple in the centre of the lake. The lake was originally built for irrigation. After the construction of a temple nearby and the suspension bridge, the lake turned into a major tourist attractions in 1971.

龍潭大池位於臺灣桃園市龍潭區，是該區的地標，也是一個觀光旅遊景點。池面開闊，原為灌溉功能的池塘，因在湖中小島興建了氣宇非凡的「南天宮」，讓整體景觀變得十分優雅，加上龍潭觀光吊橋的襯托，成為吸引遊客的重要遊憩區。大池的西北側建有「雨賢館」一座，是為了紀念1906年出生的鄧雨賢，他是著名的台灣民謠「望春風」、「雨夜花」等歌曲的作者。雨賢樓於2003年由另一位龍潭出身的文學家鍾肇政所催生，館前設有一座「望春風碑」由鍾肇政親自題字。館旁另外立有鄧雨賢上半身雕像一座，雕像底座刻字之標題為「龍潭的傳奇人物－鄧雨賢」，他也是第一位被塑立銅像的台灣本土音樂家。
