That's so-called privacy. I rather prefer to have a wall for privacy. That wall would make everybody's life easier and more straightforward.
If you think for a moment, you would realize there is strong shield for the Western's life and house even there is no high wall around their houses. You cannot trespass their property even there is no wall. There is a clear rule of privacy and protection even there is no wall. If you happen to trespass their property, they would treat you with bullets no matter what. Of course, you could go out with your collegage after work for happy hours, but you rarely hear people talking about personal affairs. That's privacy!
On the other hand, Chinese peopel like to mix things up. You may have high wall and heavy door, but people still can invade your privacy or talk about your privacy. The police can knock your door anytime just to check on you randomly. I don't prefer those mess-up.
Anyway, I have a diffierent viewppoint from yours.

Yes, I think you are right. But if you tear down the wall, you must live in a safe area otherwise you are in danger.
Yes, it is a good maner to respect other's privacy. Thank you so much about your comment. I agree with you.
順便提醒大家如今已經沒有警察會到家裡戶口普查,任何人按電鈴都可以不開門。
