楚人有涉江者,其劍自舟中墜于水。遽契其舟,曰:“是吾劍之所從墜。”舟止,從其所契者入水求之。舟已行矣,而劍不行,求劍若此,不亦惑乎!
A guy from Chu dropped his sword into the water when he ferried across a river. Hurriedly, he carved a mark on the boat and said, "This is where I dropped my sword." When the boat stopped, he jumped into the water from the place he had made the mark to search for his sword. However, the ship had moved, but not the sword. Wasnt he addled in searching for his lost sword this way?
