I like the porch and the deck in my sons two-floor house in Louisville, Colorado. Now I can enjoy sitting at the porch at the front door, sipping coffee and watching seldomly appeared vehicles and people on the street, and resting at the deck in the afternoon, enjoying sunshine and watching squirrels jump around the pine trees.

That is unthinkable for the people in Taiwan or even in the Bay Area. But try to remember that: 此心安處是吾鄉。
