This afternoon after dinner, my wife and I took a walk along the pathway, where my son resides, to the Harper Lake that we often visited last time when we were in Boulder county, Colorado.

Around the lake is a typical American community of individual houses, and each house is almost of the same size but with different model. Some of them are obviously newly-built or under construction, and some are even empty lots. There are signboards in the neighborhood, saying "We love you, old neighbors. We cannot wait to welcome back!" Why is that? Because four years ago they encountered a severe bonfire that burned down a lot of the houses located in the perimeter of the lake. (Luckily, the fire evaded my son.)

Generally, the American single houses are mainly built in wood, which makes them vulnerable to fire. However, the residents of the single houses are more easily to evacuate. Report says there were no casualties during the disaster.
