Today (Pacific time) is the birthday of my second granddaughter who is three now.  This morning of Taipei time we held a three-way face time party online, including our in-laws in Buffalo, to whom our granddaughters addressed as grandpa and grandma.  (How about us?  They call us Gong Gong and Po Po, instead.  But as my elder granddaughter introduced us to others, she would say this is my grandpa or grandma, too.)

The sweet, little birthday star received a lot of presents and cards from her parents, grandparents, and uncles/aunts.  We did wire-transfer $500 to our daughter earlier and asked her buy some presents for us; however, we did not notice if those presents also included the ones from us.  Anyway, we Chinese may incline to give money as a hongbao to the present receiver, even to our loved ones.    

All of the birthdays pertaining to my families fall on the period from January to July, so next time I may stay at Taiwan beyond that period.
