午夢扁舟花底，

I took a nap at noon in a leaf-shaped cockleshell among lotus flowers,

香滿西湖煙水。

which scent was wafting over misted West Lake.

急雨打篷聲，

I heard the roof of my boat beaten by sudden showers;

夢初驚。

slightly shocked, from dream I awoke.

卻是池荷跳雨，

Then I realized on lotus leaves were leaping drops of rain

散了真珠還聚。

like pearls scattering and gathering over and over again,

聚作水銀窩，

 melting into liquid silver

瀉清波。

and flowing down the rippling river.
