T170 Transform

The key to attaining liberation is the word, transformation.
To achieve liberation, one has to eradicate the two delusions arising from misconception of reality and thought, afflictions from the three realms of existence, erroneous view of a real & permanent self, erroneous views of annihilation and personal immortality, attachment to heterodox doctrines, erroneous ascetic views and the delusions of greed, hatred, ignorance, doubt and arrogance.
One must set about from this word, transformation, to transform from a layman to a saint.
Tibetan Buddhism has cultivation methods on greed, hatred and ignorance.
Why are greed, hatred, ignorance, sexual desire and anger cultivation?
The emphasis is on the word, transformation. To transform greed to non-greed, to transform hatred to compassion, to transform ignorance to wisdom, to transform delusion to truth.
As a tantric practitioner, to be able to transform would mean liberation.

T172 Idle Chatter breeds trouble

I have said before, idle chatter is not good, why so?
Because words spoken are troubles. The human world has 「 gossips 」 everywhere, precisely caused by chattering.
I hope that True Buddha School disciples, not to engage in idle chatter. Idle chattering breeds troubles.

T173 Not what you can have forever

This world is impermanent. The house, car, can never belong to you forever.
Including your own body, is not what you can have forever too.
If you can comprehend this truth and slowly build a selfless spirit, you would then be liberated from the various afflictions.

T178 Obstacles of ignorance

We know that the 3 poisons are greed, hatred and ignorance
Greed is the craving of desires.
Hatred is anger and resentment.
Ignorance is the lack of right understanding.
Without greed, without hatred, you will not have too much ignorance and imbecility would not exist.
At this time, you will have a clear heart and be able to see everything about the sentient beings. You would be able to overcome, transform and illuminate.
Hence, when man is pursuing worldly desires, his Buddha nature will not appear.
When the mind is able to be still and calm and gains enlightenment regardless of any circumstance, the Buddha nature of this person will then show.
In times of greed and hatred, overshadowed by ignorance, the Buddha nature is covered.

T180 Universal Respect

As a Buddhist, one cannot have grudges.
One cannot have hatred and resentment.
One cannot be angry or jealous and cause harm to others.
And not just that, one must practice universal respect.
Even if this person has cheated you of your money, you must still respect him.
Even if this person has harmed you, you must still respect him, because this involved a lot of causes and effects.
To show great kindness for those with no affinity; and great compassion when we are all one.” When there is not much affinity, you must still be compassionate towards the person. This is universal respect.
Shakyamuni Buddha has taught us like this too.

T181 Supreme Wisdom of Liberation

Determined Buddhism learners are doing it, not for enjoyment in the next life but, to truly gain the supreme wisdom of liberation.
I yearn for my disciples to dedicate all merits to be born in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, to be born in a lotus, never to regress and to behold the Buddha, ceasing all birth & death.
And then, return to the 3 realms of existence to save the sentient beings at liberty.
Disciples, who are confident of not losing themselves in the human realm, can vow to return to the human world.
For tantric practitioners with no confidence, it is best to dedicate the merits to the Western Pure Land.
Buddhism is relatively different from other religions in that the Dharma teaches one not be contented with ascending to the heavenly realm.
