What does it mean to go with the flow?

I have never wanted to win any prizes, nor have I thought about what may happen to me in the future, for example,where I will reincarnate to next? I have not thought about it at all. I am just doing my best to be a cultivator.

Going with the flow, this saying always give me the feeling of missing something. I thought about it for a very long time and finally figured it out. As cultivators, we should follow the superior path and not the feelings and desires of the common man.
"Ordinary feelings and desires" means the emotions and desires of a common man.

A common man is materialistic, desires delicacies, killing and eating carnivorous, indolent, fraud, theft, extortion, lust and love, prefer to lie, gossip, bad mouth about others, consume alcohol, unable to see the truth, prefer to sing, dance, dress up and drama, if doing these are going with the flow, would that be okay?
Most people see this as going with the flow, when in fact this is going through the six realms of reincarnation repeatedly like the turning wheels of a car that goes around and around endlessly.

To truly “go with the flow” is to have no thoughts for the self.

「隨順隨緣」這四個字,我總覺彷彿有何漏失,想了很久,我終於悟出,一個行者,要隨順「聖道」,不可隨順「凡情」！
【凡情】凡夫的心情也。

凡夫的心情喜歡山珍海味,殺生食肉,喜歡財物,好逸惡勞,偷盜詐騙,巧取豪奪,又喜愛淫慾,恩愛相纏,又喜好妄語、綺語、惡口、兩舌;又喜飲酒,昏迷本性,智暗心昏,喜歌,喜舞,喜裝扮,喜戲劇,如果這些全隨順隨緣,行嗎？
凡情是一切眾生的惑業,隨順凡情,輪迴六道,如車輪之轉而無窮。
